Ute Hampel

The name Ute comes from Old High German. Its original forms are Oda and Uota, with Oda being the older form and Uota being the younger form. Both are based on the word “ot”, which means “possession” or “inheritance”. The first name Ute can therefore be interpreted as the “owner” or the “heiress”.
